About me

Ciao Tutti, welcome to my Italian Recipe Blog!

My name is Gabriel Riel-Salvatore and I’m an amateur chef, writer, photographer and food stylist. Cooking for me is all about relaxing and enjoying fun, tasty dishes on a daily basis. I was raised in an Italian family and food was always central in my life. I cook for pleasure and my goal is to present easy Italian recipes for everyone.

I’am the managing editor and food editor for PanoramItalia, a Canadian magazine promoting Italian Lifestyle, and a freelance writer for the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Crasftmanship. I also collaborated with specialized wine publications such as Gambero Rosso and Wine & Degustation and continue writing for the Wine World Magazine and Il corriere vinicolo.

I’ve always loved cooking and learned mainly from my mother Hélène and my nonna (grandmother) Ilde Paolone. Cooking for me is all about the pleasure of eating easy Italian recipes made from the freshest and most authentic ingredients possible.

I enjoy exploring dishes coming from all corners of Italy, expressing the amazing culinary diversity of the Bel Paese. My sources of inspirations are both in rural and urban Italy. Yet I also like to explore the North-American expression of Italian gastronomy, which is rooted in tradition while expressing a unique New World flair.

In Gabi’s Italian Food Blog, you’ll find tasty, easy Italian recipes for all occasions. But most of all inspiration for your daily family menus and friendly dinners.

Buon appetito!

Gabriel Riel-Salvatore
